Frankenmuth is known as Michigan's Little Bavaria for the city’s German heritage and architecture. Visitors are greeted with a “Willkommen” sign promising Bavarian hospitality. The Mid-Michigan community is known for its European cheese and chocolate shops, and “world-famous” chicken dinners.
Billed as the "World's Largest Christmas Store,” this unique retail destination covers more than 7 acres (or 1.5 football fields) and is filled with every Christmas decoration imaginable. Bronner’s will personalize ornaments at no charge.
This fun cheese shop makes a dozen cheeses in-house and features cheeses from around the world. The 74-foot Figurinespiel Tower, located at the Frankenmuth Cheese Haus, tells “The World of Cheese,” an animated story about cheese making across Europe and the United States. The story is told five times a day.
This iconic destination features a restaurant known for family-style chicken dinners that serve a million guests annually. The restaurant’s nine dining rooms can seat more than 1,500 guests at a time. Zehnder's Splash Village Hotel and Waterpark has been recognized as a 2023 Travelers' Choice Best of the Best winner among hotels for families around the world.
This working historical and petting farm takes visitors back in time. They can hold cuddly baby bunnies and chicks or watch playful lambs and goats. Feed and play with the farm animals, gather your own eggs, and take a horse-drawn wagon ride. There are also seasonal demonstrations of draft horses plowing, planting, and harvesting.
HolzBrucke is German for wooden bridge. The 239-foot covered bridge, made completely of wood, spans the Cass River in Frankenmuth and joins the Bavarian Inn Lodge and the festival grounds to Main Street. This beautiful piece of craftsmanship is open year-round for autos or pedestrians.
