Considering the ongoing spread of the novel coronavirus, it’s normal for people to be a little more sensitive to how they are feeling. Every sneeze or scratchy throat becomes suspect. At this time of year, along with trying to avoid getting sick, many people are experiencing normal seasonal allergies. So, how do you know if what you’re feeling is a result of the seasons changing or the onset of COVID-19?
Here are a few ways symptoms may differ:
- Runny nose
- Watery or itchy eyes
- Sneezing
- Tickling cough
- Fever
- Dry cough
- Sore throat
- Trouble breathing
- Fatigue
- Body aches
- Occasional gastrointestinal issues
Navigating your health through this difficult time can be challenging, but it’s important to remember that no one knows your body better than you. If you’re someone who normally gets seasonal allergies, watch for symptoms that might be different than what you’ve had before.
If you are experiencing a fever, cough or shortness of breath, call your doctor right away to seek further instruction on what to do. And if you are sneezing or coughing due to allergies or another sickness be sure to always cover your nose and mouth and wash your hands right after. This will keep you from spreading germs to others.
