All of the back-to-school commercials are a sad reminder that summer is almost over, and fall is around the corner. Even though the warm weather is coming to an end, it doesn’t mean that the fun has to stop! August is the perfect time to get your last-minute vacations in, while the weather is still beautiful.
Many people feel that because they’re on vacation and not participating in their normal day-to-day routine that it’s okay to slack on working out. Going on vacation isn’t an excuse to halt your exercise routine. Truth is, you can exercise anywhere! Below are five exercises that you can do in your hotel room, so you can stay healthy while you’re having adventures.
A great start to any workout, jumping jacks will warm you up and get the blood pumping.
Push-ups are a classic exercise move. Doing them will stretch your muscles, improve your posture, and help protect your shoulders from injury.
Still in the push-up position, mountain climbers will continue to work your arms. Keep your weight evenly distributed between both hands to prevent falling.
Another strength exercise, triceps dips can be done almost anywhere. Use the ledge of your bed or desk chair to push off against.
A personal favorite, bicycle kicks really engage your abs! You can do them while lying in your bed; the softness of the bed will make it harder to maintain balance, thus making your abs work even harder.
Maintaining your exercise routine while traveling doesn’t have to be a difficult task at all. With these moves, you can have an excellent summer vacation and fit your workout in at the same time.
