The texture and taste isn’t compromised with this healthy dessert substitute. Once blended, the avocado is unrecognizable, so you’re able to make the swap without the kids even realizing it.
Whenever we can, it’s great to incorporate heart-healthy, plant-based fat like avocado as a substitute for heavy whipping creams.
The natural sweetness that comes from cinnamon, vanilla, almond milk, cocoa powder/chocolate and maple syrup are also great swaps that provide antioxidants and less added sugars.
This is another recipe that is great to work on as a family. Rather than teaching children to avoid sweets all together, show them the ways we can indulge while getting in some good nutrition and heart-healthy fat.
