There’s nothing quite like autumn in Michigan with its spectacular fall foliage, dramatic sunsets and crisp air that makes you want to get outside and move around.
To some, fall means hot cider and apple orchards, to others it means hiking trails in Northern Michigan. Whatever it means to you, you’re sure to see the beautiful shades of orange, red and yellow on the many trees across the state. This stretch of US-41 is known for its canopy trees covering the road. During the fall, the changing colors of the leaves form a beautiful backdrop for any picture.
Located in the Upper Peninsula off the coast of Lake Michigan, this park is a must-see in the fall. The area has several historic buildings and trails that capture various colorful views.
This 34-mile trail connects South Haven to Kalamazoo. The trail is filled with nature, small towns, historical sites, lakes and bridges. Walk, ride or hike through and you’re sure to capture an awesome picture (and memories too).
Yates Cider Mill takes you back in time. The cider mill itself has a historic look, perfect for capturing a fall picture. You can also venture down to the Riverwalk to capture the fall colors reflecting off the water. Enjoy an apple or a glass of warm cider while exploring the nature trails near the property.
Though this lighthouse is no longer in service, its old wooden exterior and charming look make it the perfect backdrop for a colorful fall picture.
With trails spanning throughout the park, Porcupine Mountains are sure to show you some of the best fall colors in Michigan. To get the best views, take the chairlift up the mountain and capture the plethora of colors around you.
