Au Sable River Kayaking: Slide into a kayak and pick up a paddle for a scenic adventure. This river is not only known for its quality fishery, but for its world-class paddling. Make plans with an outfitter for a guided tour, gear rental, or bring your own kayak for a self-guided trip downstream.
Huron Manistee National Forest: Stretching to encompass nearly one million acres in Northern Michigan, this national forest is home to beautiful wildflowers, towering trees and miles of trails for hiking and other activities.
Oscoda Beach Park: A few blocks from downtown, Lake Huron’s waves beckon at this popular beachside park. It features a splash pad, skate park, playground and grill areas. You’ll also find a long boardwalk and pier. There are even movie nights during the summer.
Iargo Springs: Underground springs bubble up in this area, and viewing decks and boardwalks invite people to walk among the spring-fed acreage and view the wildlife.
Wurtsmith Air Museum: Celebrating a century of aviation history in this area, this museum features air exhibits with items dating back to World War I and World War II. Special programming is available during the summer and early fall.
