A Few of Michigan’s Best Apple Orchards and Pumpkin Patches
| 2 min read
‘Tis the season for apple picking and pumpkin carving! And here in Michigan, we’re in luck because we’re surrounded by amazing orchards and pumpkin patches. There are too many to list, but below are a few of our favorite go-to spots to experience a little fall fun, whether you’re looking to enjoy a delicious cup of cider, embark on a great gourd hunt or get lost in a corn maze:
- Wiard’s: This Michigan staple was founded in 1837 and has been serving the Metro Detroit area for more than 175 years. Today, Wiard’s apple orchard and cider mill cover nearly 100 acres, offering visitors a one-of-a-kind fall experience. In addition to pumpkin and apple picking, visitors can also enjoy its corn maze, hayride and – if daring enough – a trip through the haunted attraction “Night Terrors.”
- Blake Farms: This historic farm located in Armada was one of the very first “Pick Your Own” orchards in Michigan. Today, the farm has expanded to more than 500 acres, offering visitors apple picking, pumpkin hunting and an array of family entertainment that ranges from pony rides to cornfield mazes. Did we mention that they are also famous for their award-winning apple cider?
- Friske’s Farm: This Northern Michigan must-see destination grows and harvests 5.5 million pounds of fresh Michigan produce annually. Explore the orchards, petting zoo, play area, general store and more.
