On June 26, 1498, the first toothbrush was invented by a Chinese Emperor who plucked coarse hairs from a hogs back and inserted them into a bamboo handle.
While the design and materials have changed throughout the years, the toothbrush remains a tool used worldwide and continues to help millions of individuals maintain good oral hygiene.
In honor of National Toothbrush Day, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan is giving away 10 Oral-B Complete Deep Clean. Coming a long way from the coarse hairs used to make the first toothbrush, the Oral-B Complete Deep Clean toothbrush provides a number of benefits to help achieve a clean, healthy mouth, including:
  • Removes more plague than a regular manual toothbrush
  • Massages and stimulates gums
  • Helps clean along the gum line
  • Helps you reach your back teeth
Ten lucky winners can win a toothbrush by simply retweeting @HealthierMI’s tweet on the contest. Be sure to follow A Healthier Michigan on Twitter for a chance to win!
