Pride events are filling the 2023 calendar across Michigan this summer and into fall. Whether you’re looking to celebrate the talents and successes of the LGBTQ+ community for yourself or with friends and family, these events will offer a variety of options. From parades to music to pet- and family-friendly activities, there is something for everyone.
Here are some of the biggest events slated for this summer and beyond, according to Pride Source. For a complete listing, check here.

The Motor City Pride Festival at Hart Plaza in Detroit

Over Saturday June 1 and Sunday June 2, Motor City Pride takes over Hart Plaza in downtown Detroit. For entrance to the festival that runs from 1 PM to 9 PM on Saturday, and 12:30 to 7 PM on Sunday, tickets are $5. On Sunday, the Pride Parade starts at noon and the festival resumes afterward.
According to the Motor City Pride website, the festival has 14 different food vendors and food trucks that will be selling a wide variety of foods from vegetarian items, noodles, chicken, burgers, and hot dogs.

Saugatuck-Douglas Community Pride in the Park

Saturday, June 1, enjoy a Pride celebration in a well-known welcoming place for LGBTQ+ guests and community members. A big roster of activities awaits this year along with vendors, brews and wines from across the state. Events include brunch festivities, a drag bowling party, an adult prom, and more. Ferndale Pride

Celebrating its 14th year, Ferndale Pride is back for another jam-packed day of queer delights in downtown Ferndale on Saturday, June 1. In addition to food, drink and merchandise vendors, enjoy events like aerobatic performances in the children’s area, free sexual health screenings at the Affirmations community center, cat and dog adoptions, drag story time and more. Muskegon Pride

On Saturday, June 1, Muskegon Pride kicks off with a Pride Parade starting at 10:30 AM at 7th and Western in Muskegon. Events later on in the day include Grand Rapids Entertainment stilt walkers, aerial performers and more at 12 PM, as well as Family Pride Hour, DJs and drag shows throughout the afternoon and evening. Grand Rapids Pride Festival

Going into its 36th year in 2024, Grand Rapids Pride Festival is a safe, open, and inclusive environment for Grand Rapids community members. The 2024 festival will be held Saturday June 22nd from 12 PM until 10 PM at Calder Plaza in Grand Rapids. To keep up with event announcements for the festival check out the website.
